For the love of coffee~

Writer: Copper & ColourCopper & Colour

What is it about caffeine that just makes everything in the world okay? I for one know that if I haven't had my first cup of coffee, that day is going to be a questionable one. I've also told myself numerous times (just this voice in my head), that I'm going to have a headache unless I've had a cup. Maybe its psychological, maybe its physiological - I guess I'm not really bothered if its either.

So I took it upon myself over the years to examine the kind of coffee I really like (and am comfortable drinking multiple times a day). Is it mess-free, quick, easy to prepare and not instant coffee? Yes, that works for me.

During this period where we're all at home, I tried to make a genuine effort to cut back on my caffeine intake. It's been over a month now and I've surprisingly managed to have just a cup a day (with zero headaches). Something tells me its my switch from dairy to dairy-free milk that may have made it easier for me. I think we've all been there where we've been tempted to try out the all-famous soy and almond milk; but that wasn't for me. Something about that overwhelming soy and nutty flavour took over the taste of my coffee, and it just wasn't the same.

So one day during my online shop, I was browsing through the dairy-free options and found something which might actually change the way I consumed coffee forever. Rice milk - I know, it sounds odd, but I thought I'd give it a try. It's now been over a month and I've repeatedly enjoyed this dairy-free option in my coffee. Creamy, with a hint of sweetness and the ability to foam-up much like any other milk.

My favourite so far, the Koita Rice Milk: https://www.koita.com/product/rice-milk/ If you're in the UAE, you'll find this stocked at your local Carrefour. I'd love to hear from you if you try this out!
